May 2025 Stake Conference

Members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Springfield Illinois Stake will gather for a semi-annual stake conference to be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4.

To spiritually prepare for that conference, members of the stake are invited to participate together in temple ordinances and worship on Friday, May 2. Many will be participating in the following activities and sessions:

  • Baptisms: 3-5:30 pm

  • Initiatory: 2-5:30 pm

  • Sealings: 6:00 pm

  • Endowment: 6:00 pm

  • Endowment: 7:00 pm

If you have not already signed up for one of those sessions, please do so in the usual manner to assure you will have a place reserved when you arrive.

Saturday Leadership Session, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Invited: All Ward Council members and their respective presidencies (Bishoprics, Elder Quorum, Relief Society, Sunday School, Young Women, Primary) and Stake Council members and their respective presidencies.

The session will be divided into two parts: general session (all together) and breakout sessions.

The general session will include instruction on the following topics:

  • Caring for those in need

  • Ministering interviews

  • Inviting all to receive the gospel

  • Remarks by President Martinez

The breakout sessions will be as follows:

  • Clerks (stake president’s office)

  • Primary (Primary room)

  • Youth (high council room)

  • Elders quorums and Relief Society (chapel)

Saturday Adult Session, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Invited: All adults 18 and older.

The session will be divided into two parts: general session (all together) and breakout sessions.

The general session will feature:

  • Missionary testimony

  • Remarks by Overseer Thomas Walker of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Decatur on the topic of working with today’s youth and responding to their social and spiritual needs.

  • Remarks by President Martinez

Breakout sessions:

  • Press Forward Saints: Remaining Diligent on the Covenant Path—President Leonard and guests. (Relief Society room)

  • Exaltation: Making and Keeping Covenants—President Martinez and St. Louis Temple leaders (high council room)

  • Interfaith Unity and Community Service: United We Stand, Divided We Fall Short—President Risley, Overseer Walker, Rev. Dan Frachey, and Eric Hadley-Ives (president of the Greater Springfield Interfaith Association) (chapel)

Dessert and fellowship (cultural hall).

Sunday, May 4, 2025

New Member Session: 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
Invited: All new members and friends in past two years are invited to a special conversation and testimony meeting with President and Sister McKay of the St. Louis Missouri Mission and President and Sister Hintze of the St. Louis Missouri Temple.

GENERAL SESSION: 10:00 to 12:00 Noon
Invited: All members and friends.
Speakers and participants include: children, youth, adults, local leaders, mission and temple leaders

All meetings are at the Springfield Stake Center located at 3601 Buckeye Dr., Springfield, IL 62712.

In person attendance is beneficial and encouraged but if you are unable to attend in person, please contact your Bishop or Branch President for the Zoom link for the Sunday sessions.
